World Apart

He wasn't a prince nor that of any talent,

And his hands were calloused with age and smoke.

Not a scholar, but he is now gallant.

His love for her awoke when under night's cloak.

Though she was of rich and he was of poor,

Maybe one day she will love him as well.

Her room is dark and sad, her eyes are sore.

She is royal but she can not now dwell.

He comes bearing gifts for father and then,

She sees his eyes full of light that she loves.

Though she lives in another world, he is wren.

Wishing to be one with him, she's a dove.

Two worlds apart at birth they can't be one,

Under the night they're one but light has won.
