Words Upon A Page

Location

When I was a young girl naive and new to the world

I was shy and did not understand the beauty of being naive and young.

I had few friends and was late bloomer compared to all the other girls

and I could not learn to read. For me it was just words upon a page or a

single word or phrase. I can remember staying up real late with my mother

reading sentences over and over. Hoping it would stick or I would grasp the hidden secret

behind it all. One day I did get it and it was like a whole new world was open for me to

explore. These were just not words upon a page but stories filled with emotion and passsion.

I spent countless hours after that day reading stories and poems. Involving heros, villians,

love, and loss. And reading inspired me to do a wonderful thing by showing me I could

expresss myself. And those words upon a page than became my dreams, ambitions, and

emotions. Allowing myself to be free and share how I felt with others. Like they had

graciously done with me. And now these words upon a page have become my lfe.
