Woman Watching Her Future Sleep

Innocent baby sleeps inside his room.

His mind is napping from his day of play.

The mother prays her son will grow and bloom

Against all hurdles that impede his way.

This same young boy that now is slumbering

Will soon leave home and begin a fresh life

In a new place that is not what it seems.

This aged child will then encounter strife.

This woman sobs in front of her son's bed.

She knows that soon enough her boy must go.

The windmill of her life is not yet dead,

But once her baby leaves, wind shall not blow.

The woman stares towards her boy in bed.

Once he leaves, her empty heart will bleed red.
