the wolf’s breath

fans the black flames

 

forests erased

regrown as black spires

the wolf’s empire

yellow eyes

watch from the light

as the world struggles

from the liquid ash

 

the wolf’s eyes drown them

in the mercuric remains that run yellow

calls down the moon

to join the earth

liquid ash meets roving fire

desolation

flashing shadows hide the wolf

 

the terrors of those ghostly

floating eyes

haunt the black rivers

and yellow sky
