Wings of an Angel

Fri, 08/14/2015 - 16:10 -- Just_Me

She was always a dreamer, she wished for flight

One day a while back, her peers gave her wings and told her to fly

But she hadn't the courage to try them out

Years pass before she decides

Today is the day she learns to fly

A leap of faith from the highest cliff will tell her fate

As she stands above the dark, churning waters

Her wings spread wide, she begens to doubt herself

And before she could talk herself out, she steps out into the nothingness

She desprately flails her wings to no avail

While she falls, she starts to think

Was her dream really to fly?

The wings she was givin weren't wings at all

What was given to her by her peers was, in fact, depression and anxiety

Her wings were cut by a sick society

Her dream was never to fly

It was suicide
