The widow's might
Location
These are the days of Jalebi, the widow,
who has to wake and see others go to the meadow.
Her dreams and heart desires put on hold,
and who doesn't get food in a plate of gold.
Strong Jalebi remains at home,
Keeping children's hushed voices low.
Idle days like this come and go,
with Jalebi gradually losing her glow.
Jalebi cannot visit her sister who has just given birth,
like she has been omitted from daily doses of happiness.
One loss has come with many more,
a burden she cannot share with anyone.
Jalebi must celebrate,
The world finally understands her plight.
Darkness has come with some light.
A disease has shown the widow's might.

Your style is certainly unique, the phrasing and rhyme scheme is very original. The story line is strong, poignant and well detailed. This sheds light on the plight of an individual- it highlights the human factor... and this is very important in poetry. Instead of making generalizations, you focused, named the woman, personalized things.
