Why Write?

I express myself with word and rhyme, in an attempt to share that which is internal, deep, profound and exclusive to the unique essence and spirit, better known as me.

If I can only convey one thought, one feeling, one hope, one dream that touches and sparks the fire burning within another's soul, then I have surpassed a lifetime lived for material gain.  I have ascended beyond the peak of the loftiest mountain top, while simultaneously descending into the murky depths of the deepest ocean abyss, I have met the extremes.

Words possess magic--an incalculable power--as awesome and expansive as any force of nature, marveled or feared, unleashed on planet earth.

The human soul and spirit is immeasurable, intangible, and uncalculable, yet, the tantilizing possibility of unraveling such mystery with mortal spoken word, I find intoxicating.  If to only superficially scratch the enormity of the complexities, complications, and contradictions that well up and flood my soul, is compelling.  Allowing another a privileged glimpse or form connections to that which resides inside is validation of a life worth living, a purpose to exist.

Words, prose, psalms, poems, lyrical songs--internally spawned and externally exposed--help me to examine myself and possibly touch a common chord with those who seek a deeper look and question that which thrives, drives, and beats inside us all.  That is why I write.
