Why Poetry

Location

You asked me why I write--

poems

Why I write poems.

Poems are free

                                            unbound

by            so                                    many                                                 restraints

I can play with poetry

See?

poetryisfun

Poetry lets you talk

and at the same time

allows you to remain

anonymous

ambiguous

so people can think you said something without you actually saying it

Poetry allows you to write about your imaginary friends (or your real ones) without being laughed at or sounding crazy or being ignored

Poems are a way  to poke fun to complain to lament to exclaim to declare...

THEY are the reason why I write.
