WHY NOT?

If you want my love

Why not love me the same?

If loving is not your thing

Why get jealous when others do?

If you enjoy my company

Why tramp with me only in the night?

You say you want my love and not wealth

Yet

When the rich come your way,

They talk-you smile

They open their wallets-

And you lie naked with them all night

When the morning comes

After the rich caressing your body

And leaving you lonely at sunrise

Why run to me for comfort?

Pleading

Begging

That I accept your love

Why not look into my eyes

and see how misty they are?

remorseful

resigned

My love has faded

And my heart cannot love you the same
