Why I write

To write gives wings to thoughts that have just begun to crawl.

What was once a senseless idea that spoken word cannot express,

becomes something beautiful and melodic.

There is no judgement on paper.

To write is to learn and grow into a sense of pride,

What starts as practiced alphabet letters in crayon,

has become a sonnet.

Such growth has the power to move others to tears.

To write is to be, and simply be. Beautiful and ugly alike.

Pen and paper will play therapist, family, support system, lover,

A shoulder to lean on, but a startling reflection of every fault possessed.

This reflection made me when it had the power to break me.

To write is to be honest, and to ignore the fear that comes with such things.

Palpable words written in pen, even scribble marks will not erase who you are.
