Why I write

Tue, 08/13/2013 - 18:52 -- dwbb96

In a world filled with confusion,

A plane of lies and deceit,

A realm of double standard and judgement,

I write words of truth and justice.

I write to recover missing parts of myself,

buried deep within a shallow place.

Writing lets me exist.

With my words I reach past lies,

To realize that my mind is a prize,

My words with a few rhymes,

Make paths through difficult times.

I am a writer, a soul searcher, a creator.

I make new words with my whims.

Alter my reality with a verse.

Capture moments in time in haiku.

I write to remove myself from the past,

To take out the pain on the page with a pen.

I take the problems of the world in stride.

As a writer with pride, I can't hold it all inside.

The page is a infinite space,

with which i can erase,

My fears, my doubt, my tears.

I am a writer because

It's who I am and who I was meant to be.

I don't write for the glory. I write for me.
