Why Can't You See?

My life is mine,

I wish it to be,

I want it so bad,

Why can’t you see?

My decisions are my own,

No need to approve,

If you don’t like my life,

There’s no need to be rude.

I feel like I’m drowning,

I’m trying to float,

With all this pressure,

I’m caught by the throat.

I acted on my own,

I’m free now to be,

Whatever I want,

But why can’t you see?

This poem is about:
Me
My family
