Why?

Why?

Why do you sit next to me and listen to me cry?

A simple answer, because I love you – that’s the reason why.

Why can you look at me and see all I attempt to hide?

A simple answer, because I love you – that’s the reason why.

You stand by me when I am weak and support me when I’m strong,

But you aren’t afraid to scold me when I turn up in the wrong.

You tolerate my ramblings and laugh at my strange thought,

We’re too loud in public because the giggles we both caught.

Why do you ask if I’m fine but see through my attempted alibi?

A simple answer, because I love you – that’s the reason why.

Why do you care about my mind and the passions that make me fly?

A simple answer, because I love you – that’s the reason why.

You are the steadfast hurricane of emotions that make me spin,

Every time you appear you never fail to make me grin.

The tiniest movements and comments are seen and heard,

In our hardest times, we can lean on each other to be assured.

Together we adventure and from hardships never shy,

Because we love each other – that’s the reason why.

Forgiveness and grace are the actions that we try,

Because we love each other – that’s the reason why.
