Why

In this world

Good is taken for granted

Being bad is desired

And we face issues that break us down

This world is twisted and confused

Why do good girls like bad boys?

Why are children abused?

Why do planes crash

Killing millions of innocent people

Why are minorities being shot?

If we are all created equal

Why do we have cancer?

Why do we have AIDS?

Why can’t we be healthy and happy?

Living out the rest of our days

Why do daddies leave their babies?

Do they forget they are alone?

Why do they leave the mothers?

To fend for themselves in broken homes

Why do we have natural disasters?

Why do we have wars?

Why do we result to violence?

Is talking not good enough anymore?

Why don’t we pray?

Why do we curse?

Why do we love the ones that hurt us?

And treat our loved ones the worst

The world is in ruins

Was this part of the plan?

Were we supposed to endure hardship?

Maybe it’s not meant to understand

We cannot face this world alone

Together we should press our hands

Fall to our knees

And pray for the betterment of man

Pray for yourself

Pray for the meek

Pray for your enemies

Pray for the weak

Stop tearing each other down

Words cut deeper than knives

Spread uplifting energy

Start holding your head up high

In a world filled with hatred

Stand up and make a change

One voice can make a difference

A good deed will pave the way

Do not be discouraged

By the sadness on the news

You and I can make the world greater

But, only if we choose

This poem is about:
Our world
