Who am I without technology?

Who am I behind the filters,

the makeup, the extravagant hairdos

and the overpriced clothing.

Who am I?

I am the rose in a garden full of lilies.

I am the white stripe to a painted black wall.

I am the gold lining to a silver ring.

What I’m trying to say is, I’m different.

And I’m okay with that.

I am a light in a room full of darkness.

But for some mind-blowing reason,

people still love and accept me

exactly for who I am.

I am happiness. 

I am hope.

I am the loud, crazy, ambitious, 

strong, smart, funny, humble,

religious girl that you don't find just anywhere.

I strive towards a better future.

I don’t take my days for granted,

because I know tomorrow is never

promised. I love unconditionally,

regardless of who the person may be.

I am a positive mind. I am unlike most.

I don’t fit into the social norm,

I never have, and I never will.

And I'm okay with that.
