Who I am inside

Is who I truly hide.

Behind this mask I wear,

In fear of those who will stare.

Through the eye holes I see

Everything from you to me.

Who's on the outside?

Am I not meant to decide?

Who I am inside

Is who I still hide.

Behind this mask I wear,

In fear of those who may stare.

It's time to realize,

The person on the inside needs to be idealized.

They are the perfect me

For they need to be an escapee.

Who I am inside

Is who is trying not to hide.

Behind this mask I wear,

In fear of those who will never stare.

Now that the mask is gone,

I'm looking on.

What I saw before

Was never passed the door.

The person you see, is not who I used to always be.

Trapped in my own worried mind,

Is who other used to define.

Now I'm unmasked and every eye can agree,

That who I am inside

Is no longer who I hide.
