Who Am I Really?

Sat, 08/06/2016 - 22:51 -- ZER0

There are few things in my life that I need

I need time to write, I need time to read

I need a time to look at myself in the mirror and check if my conscience is clearer

To rhyme, I need time

Every day I ask myself who am I?

Like the song in Les Mis but the thing that they miss

Is they don’t really answer the question

They mention his name

All the same

2 4 6 0 1 who are you really?

He gives to all people freely

The story is not exactly touchy-feely

But Jean’s a good man

Like I want to be

A builder, a fighter, a leader, a lighter

Of fires of words that inspire

And make people look at themselves and inquire

Who am I really?

One spark, one thought, one word

One moment in time

If you know who you are give yourself credit

I’m not the first person who said it

But I want things to change

Is that strange?

That I want to save face for the whole human race

Is that weird? Unexpected?

And sometimes it seems we are all disconnected

And that is why I need your help to correct it

And then reconnect it and then we direct it to good

And as I have told you again and again

It takes thirty minutes or fifteen or ten

Of your time

There are a few things in my life that I need

I need time to write, I need time to read

I need time to look at myself in the mirror

And see that my conscience has never been clearer

Time

And I say that I’m

I’m helping us climb

Climb out of the grime

The grime that exists from a surplus of wasted

Time

So take my suggestion and answer my question

It’s time

It’s time that you tried to decide to provide me an answer

Who are you really?
