A whistle to myself,
I whistled a song,
A song about a woman,
frightened by the black night,
frightened by what she don't understand,
she calls upon the daylight,
and then it comes,
It comes to take the night away,
It comes like an tempered storm,
the light begins to bury the night,
It tries to cleans it of the dark,
It tries to protect her from what she don't understand,
and the night is gone,
and the day rises,
and it realized what it's done,
it was just a whistle,
I whistled the night away
I am the night
I am Emmett Till
