Whimsical Words

Tue, 02/04/2020 - 15:23 -- aspenn

Eager fingers turn the ivory leaves.

Whimsical words fill the air,

Dancing around her fingers and entangled in her hair.

The young bibliophile consumes every letter as she reads

Tales festooned in dragons, damsels and thieves.

She explores a world both foul and fair

As she is transported inside this riveting tale.

All too soon, the last page is gone and it’s time to leave.

But her spirits lift as an idea sparks

Inside her mind, shiny and new.

A story of her own, complete with every part

That made her favorite stories famous through and through.

Though utter balderdash, it’s enough to make one remark,

“This story, no one could outdo.”
