That which I was Not

I was told to pursue
That which I want to be,
Not that which I am.

So I became
A dancer
Not A fighter;
A mover
Not A maker;
A shifter
Not A shaker;
A tiwister
Not A taker;

I chased the thunder
And drank the rain,
Rather than lie in silence
And contemplate.

I played with the fires
I had started in times before.
And this time,
I burned myself,
Instead of the world.
