Which craft

Mom had a poetry notebook when I was a kid

we will call it a spell book

because poetry is the most basic form of magic

i may not have believed in angels

but magic was real

there is a set rhyme scheme to how I feel

ive only been silenced once

when I was 16

and knocked back so hard

i dropped my rhyme scheme

and my self

I, Jade, have no childhood to show in photographs

proof of my life is filed carefully- at times violently and tear stained

into faded old papers

poetry is proof

my thoughts foot prints in snow in a storm

my poems are foot prints in cement

This poem is about:
Me
My family
