Wherever You Are

If only I could be your knight in shining armor

break those gender stereotypes

save you instead of the other way around

Break you out of your shell

Coax you into the real world and help you feel better

Maybe you wouldn’t be like this

You live in your mind

A dark labyrinth filled with endless dreary thoughts

driving you nowhere, into a lost abyss

If you’re scared: close your eyes, but not for too long now

I’m a mouse dropping in to say hello

travelling through the maze, learning my way around,

helping you out

I tell myself not to get too lost

If I can’t carry my own weight how can I take you with me?

Just take my hand and we’ll be alright

Some days you might revert back, stumble and get lost

But I’ll always find you wherever you are.
