Where Are You?

Where are you?

So many perceptions link to these words-

tiny separate letters that will never be truly heard.

They lay lonely on a screen, praying for connection by two bent thumbs,

and when relayed across another glowing world they appear so numb.

Words shape thought and opinion with emotion,

yet are they angered or ecstatic with some sort of notion?

That will never be known to the next eyes who read

because a voice is all those words truly need.

They will be caught, stuck in an identity crisis right at that time.

What they really desire is their emotional partner in crime.

Those words come from a mind, a heart... a person with feelings.

So where is that voice that can fill the nonsense with meaning?

Where are you
