When The Moon Fell in Love

She was the moon.

He was the darkness.

While he mastered the shadows and all things of the evening,

the wolves howl in his glory.

They reveled in his blankets of power over the universe.

But she was their queen. In his darkness, he gave his lady light.

And because of that, she believed he was the sun.

All this time she rose and set in hopes to kiss him in their longed for eclipse.

She searches for him in the skies

as he rests in the glow of her beauty knowing he had given her eternal brightness.

Knowing they'd never come to be. For he wasn't the sun.

Though she still believes, and a love like that lights up the entire night.
