When I write,

I'm heard.

I'm listened to.

It's the only acknowledgement I get

that I'm actually good at something...

Maybe that's why it's so hard for me

to find work.

Because I don't  want writing

to be my profession....

I just want it to be something I do.

I just want to be heard.

Because no one wants to

listen to a seventeen year old girl 

with cute chubby hands 

and a face like a child.

But everyone wants to listen 

to a smooth talker who knows

their way around the keyboard

I want to be heard,

because I love it when people

 finally listen.
