When I was with you

The past is merely a scar of memories belonging to the future

The beaten and battered fall victim to a finite time on this earth

Though as I sit here, surrounded by cascading darkness

I look back on my scars, my trials

The one thing i grasp on to, hold tight

Is my continued memory of you

You are not a scar, you are the not fading ink that drips from a painting

You are the light of my life, the memory of all memories

I look to you now, in this time of need and uncertainty

And i find myself longing to create memories with you

The time for childish games and hopeless love has come to pass

You have since saved me from the consuming depths of my mind

I pray to whoever hears my thoughts that you'll have me

For this life and whatever the next life holds

You are more than just a memory to me, more than a fallen leaf from a great tree

You are my tree, and the leaves our memories

The time has come to water this tree

Please oh please, stay with me.
