When I have a child of my own

When I have a child of my own,

I will let them know every day

That they are loved and cherished

And that they are the best part of my life

When I have a child of my own,

I will spend hours with them

Teaching and showing them

All the wonders of this world

When I have a child of my own,

I will hold them when they are scared

Be there biggest fan as they grow up

And be their guide when they need it

When I have a child of my own,

I will be a parent first, instead of a friend

I will reward them with the simple things,

Teach them happiness is a state of mind

When I have a child of my own,

I will discipline them with fairness

I will show consistency in my actions

Teach them to respect elders but not fear.

When I have a child of my own,

I will love them with every thing I have

Teach them to respect the earth and

To show appreciation for what they have
