When the earth falls down

When the earth falls down, I for one won’t be around.

Instead, you’ll see me standing near,

Up in the clouds with nothing to fear.

It won’t be pleasant but it’s in the present.

Coming to us in whirls of wind,

Shaking trees and life within,

Taking things from shore to sea,

Breaking down our world you see.

Don’t be panicked, shocked or frightened,

We saw the warnings, we knew it would happen.

Looking closer might do us good,

For all the things I see we should.

Suppressing problems can’t be right,

If we really love our lives.

Piece by piece we’ll fade away,

until dust and gases replace our space.

Because the smallest of every little fault,

will build the bricks of our downfall.

For when that tragic time has come,

everything loved will be lost at once.

   And when we fall.

We’ll tumble and stumble,

Against the earth and across the ground.

Flying in sight,

With stars in our eyes,

Dreaming of heavenly worlds above.
