When is my time to shine to come?
Is it coming at all?
Should I give it a call?
O’ I hope there’s answers.
I’m not a fan of gaping questions

I’m talking the about the big shine
Not likes on a witty social media post
Or a round of applause for being a community show host
Small time accolades are no friend of mine
I long for a deserved standing ovation from time to time.

I have big dreams and immense wishes.
What right do I have to wish impossible things?
What authority have I got to demand unrealistic dreams?
I’ve got every right. I’ve got all the authority.
I’ll achieve my hopes and dreams and show them I’m mighty.

I come from a contradiction.
There’s one calling me to greatness
Encouraging the brilliance with in me
The other begs mediocrity.
To give into short-lived pleasures, heavily.

NO decline that.

YES, I will be great.
I will shun hate.
I will stir up the brilliance in me.
Just you wait and see.
