What You Don't Know

Thu, 09/19/2013 - 01:37 -- Pochoki

I creep into the lecture hall five minutes late

you frown and tell the class to be tardy is to be rude

what you don't know is that I came here straight

from my class that still hasn't ended yet, dude

After ten minutes, I fall asleep sitting up

you sigh and tell the class your lecture must really be boring

what you don't know is that my brain was about to erupt

from staying awake studying for the midterm I had this morning

Nearing the end of lecture, I wake up and nothing makes sense

you see my confusion and tell the class when your office hours are

what you don't know is that it isn't the information that's too intense

but your intense accent that makes everything sound bizarre

As I'm about to leave, you tell me to stay awake next time

I look at you with resignation in my eyes

because I was hoping you and I would get along just fine

but what they tell you about getting a good education in college is all lies
