What would you change scholarship slam

His body shuddered with tears....

His words, his plea for understanding, made every heart cry.

He had been beat, broken with words and the angry fists of his father-

screaming

No Good

Worthless

Stupid

Pointless

Waste of Space

Mistake.

Love was all he wanted,

yet hatred blocked his way.

The path to the light is shrouded in darkness,

and he stumbled. Stumbled. He nearly lost his way.

He thought suicide was the answer-to vaporize the pain.....

Love was all he wanted,

yet hatred blocked his way.

His final day of school, he could try with little fear.

He faced the crowd, standing proud, ready to end the life of tears.

But as he passed silently by, the sound. The sound. The Sound!

Music poured into his ears, into his heart, into his soul.

Calling, calling for him to come home.

Dazed he slipped in and listened with awe:

Her hands Waving

Voices Raising

He sobbed, bitter bitter tears.

The teacher stopped. All ears could hear.

She had no need for words, no need for tears.

She called him near-

Wonderful

Meaningful

Smart

Worthy

Safe

Perfect.

Hatred was all he knew,

but love took root and grew.

When a hand reaches into the darkness,

what it will find is another, clinging to the light.

A teacher's simple words, a class' loving care,

the sound of death forever left his ear.

Hatred was all he knew,

but because someone cared,

Love took root and grew.

This could be a rap. As I read it I was totally getting down to it. Great job.
