What would I change 

The game 

Life is a game we all play 

You the player decide your fate 

 

I wasn't given the key to success 

So I have to work hard and never rest

I am at a disadvantage being that I am a female and African American

But no matter how hard my dreams will happen

 

I didn't grow up with hand outs

I had to figure out how to get the dollar amounts 

My life has been hard 

It has taught me to keep up a guard 

 

Living the life I have made me who I am 

There was no helping hand

I struggled and fought for my position 

Now I see my dreams in the distance 

 

What would I change 

The game

So someone wouldn't have to live their life the same
