What goes on in my mind

All my emotions in a bind

They don't see because I don't show

Even on days where I am feeling so low

If you ask how I am you will see

How well I hide the feelings inside me

They will only see the outside

As I walk with a confident stride

Trying to be what you are not is hard

Since you never let down your guard

No one wants to see the truth

For we should not have pain in our youth

So I laugh and joke with friends

Try and keep up with all the new trends

I do not want them to see me as weak

Yet I am almost at my peak

How well do they really know

Their friend from so long ago

I will not expose what I am going through

Out of fear that they will leave me too
