What Shall I Eat for Lunch?

Rrrringg! The bell squeals like a famished pig
And everyone bolts out of class,
Stomachs filled with
Emptiness.
The heavenly menu for lunch
Stimulates my anxious taste buds
As if they were given
Ten cups of non-decaffeinated coffee.

Plump and seasoned calzones,
Loaded with a cheese bomb waiting to explode,
Tempting tater tots,
Juicy golden-brown rotisserie chicken,
Crispy sticks of potato,
With heart-stopping chocolate cake on the side.

Demanding a snippet of everything, I later reach into
My pockets to discover my imminent dreams are shattered.
