What I See

I see beauty in little things.

I see how light brings out their details.

I see how joy composes my lenses

and peace it frame.

I see creativity in raw material.

I see life stem from death and

growth from what is broken.

I see love in the airs components

and exuberance in life’s stillness.

I see opportunities emerge from

mistakes, and lessons from forgiveness.

Yet, I see something else.

I see despair in high places.

I see how light appears blinding.

I see how sorrow composes my

lenses and fear it’s frame.

I see ignorance in proven facts.

I see rotting from new life

and hindrance from what is made whole.

I see rage in the airs components

and intolerance in life’s excitement.

I see apologies emerge from rightful

action and injustice from punishment.

This is what I see…

Depending on the filter

I choose to see through.
