What Even Happened?

Now this is a story all about how,

My life switched up and turned upside down.

I'll take less than a minute, you don't have to sit,

I promise, I won't waste your time with this.

About this time last year,

I was shaking with fear.

My senior year was far too near.

After a few months, I realized that

I needed to cut down on carbs and fat.

My diet improved and so did my attitude,

Though it was difficult, as a matter of fact.

I got better on the trumpet,

A relationship came, but I ducked it.

I realized that I was kinda lonely,

So I went and got myself some new homies.

These new pals were pretty cool,

Helping me with my stuggles in school.

Back then, I'd rather procrastinate

Than go on a real date.

Somewhere along the way,

I thought to myself, "Hey,

these people only think of themselves, J."

Why did they do that?

Last year I couldn't tell.

Now, I just try to make people feel well.
