What is Culture?

What is culture?

Is it the color of our skin?

Or is it the way we live?

Or perhaps the ways of our kin?

Culture is a work of art,

Woven through and through

The customs and beliefs of generations

Passed on to me and you.

It is that old tradtion

Or that meaningful dance.

It is the food that you eat

And the family at a glance.

It is not limited to customs and beliefs,

It is not defined by the people.

Though it is defined by other things,

Including the church's steeple.

Culture is something not to be lost

Over periods of time.

It goes on forever and ever,

In a way so sublime.
