It’s all up to me, no parameters on what I need to say.

I blank, ‘oh shit what am I gonna say?!’

So I look at other poems,

How they engage a reader,

Empower a reader,

Inspire a reader,

Make you laugh,

Make you cry

Or just make you say ‘meh’.

I get nervous and frustrated, “what am I gonna say?!’

I’ve got no traumatic incident,

No childhood repression

Or civil rights inspired speech.

All I know it a happy life, with great parents,

Yah there was some financial strife but who doesn’t.

What am I gonna say?

It’s all up to me now

I guess I should just write away,

Or should I write like I talk

Just keep going until I get my point across,

Or should I just stop!

When I run out of things to compare.
