"We're Friends"

Love is tragic.

Splendid, but not magic.

Tricky, and makes me sick.

Sticky, and keeps me stuck.

Slippery, and slithers away.

Rough, yet soft to touch.

Delicately the ridges of my fingers

sense your body.

You let me linger.

I pull the trigger - bang and we're dead.

We hang our heads,

faces all red.

The taste of sweat trickls into my lips.

Your single tear, as we call it quits.

Abruptly.

Just how it started.

Quick with wit but slow to kick,

me out

Fast with a hit.

Never saying shit.

Always reluctant to kiss.

Always hungry to leave.

It's you who I miss.

It's me who you don't believe.

It's you who I need.

It's me who takes all the risks.

You're not bad,

correct me if I had

mistaken your pity

for affection

cause I thought you missed me.

I'd surely be glad

If you'd allow

For life to go

Anywhere the water wants to flow.

It wants us together.

It sees us forever.

It pulls us in.

It loves our love for each other.

It feels what's within.

I feel what's within.

I get pulled in.

I see us forever.

I want us together.

I love my love for you,

but do you love me, and how much I love you?
