Wed at the Beach

The sand shifts beneath my feet as I walk towrds the ocean.
A hand grasps my own as we walk along the beach.
The salty air wafting up my nose as I stood there posed.

Flashing before my very eyes. The scene of a smiling duo, now forever to be kept.
Clashing waves heard in the distance. Family and friends continue to clap.
We stand by close with our gleaming rings being shown.

Hand in hand walking down the isle; but the anxiety in me makes it feel like a mile.
I no longer fear the uncertainty of this marriage as we near our carriage.
Saying our final goodbyes we head off to Lanai.

This poem is about:
My family
My community
My country
Our world
