We give you our words

We give you our words our hearts and our hope,
He preys to you with shaking hands to cope,
She cries in her pillow because of what you took,
Together we cry, our foundations were shook,
We whisper secrets into folded hands,
We try to understand how taking a life fits into your plans,
He cries with no fears,
Because there love in his tears,
She shakes and endures the heart break,
With every rasping breath she has to take,
We smile and pretend because he was our friend,
But really we shake and break because he met his end,
He closes his eyes because his son has just died,
No matter how hard every one tried,
We cry as one,
Under the sun,
Because our friend is asleep,
and for that; together we weep.
