As We Are

Have you ever belied something?

Something that seems abstruse and arcane?

We've all taken something benign and

Turned it into something vindictive

Who hasn't been callous at one moment and

Experienced ebullience the next

Isn't life just capricious

With feelings that seem to vex

Who hasn't had erratic outbursts

That result in cathartic actions

We've been debilitated by words and

Alleviate pain the same way

Who hasn't tried to bolster up there ego

By using amiable people

When they feel jaded or abase

Who hasn't tried to assimilate an ambiguous

Song to the way they feel

We've all had our effusive moments

That seemed dubious at best

We try to be novel and lucid and candid

We've tried to be docile and have

Attempted erudition , but in the end the

Attempts we make fail, and our ways lie in remiss

Who hasn't been Contentious when no one Concurs with their ideas?

Who hasn't denounced an action or subjected some one to censure

Everyone's been cantankerous at one moment or the next

As people we are convoluted

We impugn things we don't want to be true

We tend to get hackneyed over actions we repeat

We sometimes have issues with pragmatic though

And find it difficult to see what is sought

As people we are ambivalent

Should we be apathetic? Or Impetuous?

Effrontery or quiescent?

After all we are humans and our nature is nothing more that an enigma
