Like Waters That Rose Beneath

Location

The sun torments the earth

But gives birth to freedom

Like waters that rose beneath

In perpetuity, it wanders the kingdom

What essence is this route

It’s eternal deluge in gyre

If it only bears doubt

If contradiction echoes its empire

Which Mecca does this soul sail

Longing for purpose in this endless domain

If winds of concrete seize its trail

Squandered of its reason, destined for pain

It splattered of its soaring leak

And gathered all its limbs

I witnessed the genesis of its physique

A painted lake as serene like my dreams

It comes as a mist that nurtures

In great rivers bound for worth

The meadows mowed of treasures

Like a mother, it incubates for birth

The sun invents the earth

And gives death to futility

Like waters that fall beneath

In perpetuity, it promises fertility
