Water Tamer (Pacified)
I speak in undulations to you- formless master (nourishment has no price except existence)
ethos taught me to tame you- holding centuries before me to
mold you- whip you- thrash you into the submission of cups and concrete pools
and metal sidewalks
but you hush me- sweep my edges to the spectacle of your silent rebellion
(clarity has shyer wisdom than vapor)
with storms and potholes- nuisances of survival
simmering patiently until you again- nourish life without consequence (there is no recompense)
for now you must not sense how
vital you are (quiet the children)
but somehow your fractal heart already knew (science relies on the atmosphere)
you smoothed my fissures
kaleidoscope soul
to preserve you- my master.
