WASTED LIFE IS TRAGEDY
Death is inevitable, but at times
surprises us. Perhaps you can relate
you know someone who died unexpectedly.
Sure, you did, who haven’t, really who?
one such situation. It tells of man
acquired comfort and wealth but thought
only of man’s time on earth.
Death came without warning,
man couldn’t take nothing.
Some called man a fool for living
With a focused on only self.
Though rich in the world’s eyes,
man had no relationship with God
hadn’t invested anything in others.
All the treasures man stored
All worthless once man died.
even worse, man didn’t know God
man was separated from God forever.
the tragic waste of such a life.
The choices man made, two questions
come to mind that is important for all
contemplate. First, if self were to die today,
did self-live a waste life? Did self-value any
Salvation is a free gift
for those who trust in Jesus
the acceptable sacrifice for sin.
He is the only way—no excuses
sincere beliefs in other ways will work.
when believers die, they immediately
find themselves in the presence
of worthiness, a beautiful place
what is self-life accomplishing?
Is self-driven by selfish purposes?
storing security and wealth for self?
is self-motivation to further the greater cause?
Like man in this poem,
self don’t know when self will die.
self-do know, however,
that death is inescapable.
Dying is an unpleasant topic,
but eternity is a long time
worthy of self-attention.
It’s definitely a wise investment
make sure of self-salvation
and to invest in others.
Remember, a wasted life is tragedy.
