Wash Away

You taught me to sing

When my heart was blue

To break my shell

speak words that are true

To give and give

and to never ask

love is an ocean

A field of endless grass

There will be pests

that bite at our roots

tearing us apart

Knocking us loose

But the rain will come

to wash that all away

we forgive and forget

we love in new ways.
