War Song

I am a tired bird that needs a place to rest,
Can you feel it now? The sorrow coursing through my little wings.
My body is winning the war.
These simple feelings get caught up in the storm,
I am here waiting in the rain for you,
I know you're not coming, but how I need you.
You'd be here if you could, I know.
You'd be here if you could, you'd show.
Still my body is winning the war.
I am a tired bird that's flying south for winter,
the problem is I cannot find the warmth.
Where are you now? You've left your friends for better places,
Together crying "How?" with just a memory of a smile.
Our bodies are winning the war between our hearts,
My heart is broken, it's there no more.
These simple feelings shared between you and I,
yes these simple feelings got lost in the storm.
You'd be here if you could, DON'T GO.
You'd be here if you could, PLEASE SHOW
Before my body wins this war.
