Walled In

I can not do this,

not tonight,

I can't do this another day.

Surrounded by silence,

feeling surpressed and afraid,

trapped by the tension that awaits.

I stay quiet when you're around

feeling cut off by an unseen wall,

afraid to speak out

so I allow myself to drown.

Perhaps I am trapped within my own head

and no I do not expect us to be best friends,

but I do expect acknowledgement

and I do expect some respect

because I deserve to feel safe in OUR room.

Because as you like to say "it's my room too."
