Wake up
Location
They battle everyday to stay sane
But yet you constantly tell them to "wake up and pay attention".
What you don't realize is that they are in a constant battle with the darkness every second of every day.
You send home notes at least once a week, knowing that their parents will never care.
You ignore the scars and bruises on their body to avoid "touchy conversations".
Teachers, wake up!
Not everyone gets support, not everyone has the sanity to complete an essay over night.
Not every student can just "wake up and pay attention".
Everyone is fighting an unknown battle, and as a teacher it is your job to care.
Be the supporter.
Be the rock for students to lean on.
Be there for them.
Wake up and realize that not everyone is sane.
