Waiting in Line
I stand here waiting
In the the beginning
Of the end of this line
Time is young here
I wait as each person here
Gets closer to the cash register
Where the time is older
And they check out of this line forever
Everyone seems to be getting
Closer with each step
That they take
However with each step we all take
I do not seem to move
People pass me
I am alone
In the back of the line
They go down the line
Getting closer and closer
To checking out
But I seem to be getting further and further
Away from it
I see the people in the front of the line
They get to experience new
Sights and new people as they get further
And further away from where I am
Still standing
I want to experience those
Things to
But I can't seem to move
The items that I carry
Become a burden
I can't hold them all
In the arms that
Have gone numb
From waiting in this line
Alone
In the back
Without anyone to
Experience this time with
And right when I am about to give up
Right when I was about to drop
Everything that I once had and
Leave this line
before I could experience all
The good things that had yet to come
A gentleman comes
Behind me
He smiled at me
He talked to me
He noticed me
No one had ever noticed me before
We walked together
And I got so lost in his vibrant
Blue eyes
And I could fall asleep to his soft
And gentle voice
He made me laugh and smile
When I thought that I couldn't
And I fell
I fell so hard
So quickly
I had never thought that
This would or could even happen
Especially to someone like me
I had gotten so lost
In this time that I spent
With this man
That I never even noticed
That we had moved forward in line
I was moving
No
WE were moving
We were moving forward
Together
In this line that I thought would never end
However I was still hurting
The weight of the items I
Was carrying were becoming
Too much
He noticed
He took my items
As we got further and further
Down the line
I got the feeling
Back in my arms
I felt free
And more importantly
I felt
Cared for
He cared for me
Before we know it
We have become next in line to
Check out of this line forever
I reminisce on the time
That we spent together
I wouldn't have wanted
To wait in line
With anyone else but him
We step up to the cash register
And we check out together
